Review: VELVET REVOLVER Meet The Challenge On Much-Anticipated 'Contraband'
March 1, 2004Jon Wiederhorn of MTV.com has posted a review of VELVET REVOLVER's much-anticipated debut album, "Contraband", due on May 18 through RCA Records.
"In some ways 'Contraband' is the sum of its parts," he writes. "Slash fires off an arsenal of bluesy metal riffs and serpentine solos, [Duff] McKagan and [Matt] Sorum lay down throbbing, swaggering rhythms and [Scott] Weiland sings in a voice that's equal parts rage and pained regret.
